Flags for Heroes 2025
Honoring Our Heroes

Following the success of our inaugural event in 2024, the Rotary Club of Durham presents our second annual Flags For Heroes display. The installation at Hub RTP will feature hundreds of American flags honoring the heroes who inspire, protect, and strengthen our community.

About FLAGS FOR HEROES

American flags with "Flags for Heroes" text, defining a hero, and Rotary Club of Durham logo.

Building on the success last year’s event, the 2025 Flags For Heroes initiative promises to be even more impactful! Each majestic 10-foot American flag stands as a testament to the extraordinary individuals who have made a difference in our community – from veterans and first responders to educators, healthcare workers, and personal heroes who have touched our lives.

Honor Your Hero

Each sponsored flag includes a medallion tag bearing the name of both the honoree and sponsor, creating a lasting tribute to those who have made a difference. These medallion tags serve as powerful reminders of the exceptional individuals who have shaped our community through their service, sacrifice, and dedication.

OUR MEDIA SPONSOR

ABC11, the Triangle's ABC-owned television station, partnered as the official media sponsor for the Rotary Club of Durham's inaugural Flags For Heroes event in 2024. The station provided coverage of the 600-flag display at Hub RTP from May 19 through June 16 through television broadcasts and social media channels.

Their coverage included the Flag Raising Celebration and Flag Day Ceremony, helping to raise community awareness about the flag sponsorship opportunities. The partnership supported the Club's efforts to honor veterans, first responders, and personal heroes while raising funds for local veteran support projects.

Our Inaugural Success

In 2024, our first Flags For Heroes event exceeded all expectations, creating an unforgettable display at Hub RTP. The installation of 600 American flags created a powerful visual tribute that touched countless visitors and honored hundreds of local heroes.
