Greg Stephens left his childhood home of Johns Island, SC, to serve his country with honor in the U.S. Army. Stationed at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, NC, he was later deployed to Guatemala, where he took part in the United States' efforts to support Central American militaries in their fight against communism.
While at Fort Bragg, Greg met the love of his life, Brenda. The two married in 1977, and he made Durham his home, where his warmth and generosity quickly endeared him to the community. Greg is more than just a neighbor—he is a friend to all, always willing to lend a helping hand and brighten a room with his kind spirit a funny joke.
A man of deep faith, Greg has served as the superintendent of his church’s Sunday school. His love for his family, friends, and community is evident in everything he does. Greg continues to leave a lasting impact on those around him.
