H.C. Cranford Jr
About H.C. Cranford Jr
H.C. Cranford Jr would have been the first to say he was not a natural soldier. But when World War II broke out, he and most other male Carolina students enlisted. H.C. chose the U.S. Marine Corps, a decision he never regretted.
He was proud to serve in the Pacific, and relieved to come home to his wife Lois in Durham after his tour of duty. He never got on a ship, ate Spam, or shot a gun again. But he taught his girls the Marine Corps Hymn and lived a life worthy of the Corps. Semper Fi.
