H.A. (Harvey Audley) Cutshaw Jr. served in the Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945 participating in the Pacific theater conflicts including Wake Island to the final Pacific conflict at Okinawa Island and including campaigns during the Pacific War at locations of Rabaul, Solomons Sea, Tarawa, Marshall Islands, Philippines, Dutch New Guinea, Saipan, Tinian and Guam.
As a Seaman First Class, he served on the Destroyer USS Chancery 667 in the Pacific Ocean against the Japanese forces; and his naval group of ships provided support for the USA combat troops during their ground assaults. After World War II, Cutshaw returned to Tennessee to earn his degree at the University of Tennessee while also playing football for the University. He married Frankie Janelle Temple and resided in Sevierville, Tennessee with two children, Janelle and Kenneth.
H.A. Cutshaw had an untimely death from an automobile accident in 1966. H.A. Cutshaw served his country in war and with several veteran‘s organizations.
