Todd Taylor
About TODD
LCDR, USN
When Todd Taylor (1957 - ) was five years old, he was put on an Eastern Airlines flight from Charlotte, NC to Boston, Mass. It changed his life. He intended to join the military, learn to fly then fly commercially. He got two out of three! He joined the Navy, learned to fly helicopters and enjoyed a naval career.
Todd was trained in Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) and Search and Rescue (SAR). As a SAR pilot in the pacific northwest, he flew on many missions and was credited with 26 lives saved determined by the Rescue Coordination Center. Every rescue was a civilian in the Cascade or Olympic mountains or a sea rescue in Puget Sound. He was the Maintenance Department Head for VXE6 in Antarctica and flew science missions on the Ice. He has stood on South Pole and on the 15,000’ rim of an active volcano. While he never realized his commercial airline dream, he enjoyed the road less traveled even more.
